HRI's Research Team is made up of world class medical researchers and clinicians who work tirelessly on the prevention, early detection and reversal of heart disease.

The most common causes of heart disease is atherosclerosis otherwise known as the hardening and thickening of arteries. HRI has put together a team of ten Research Groups and Units which work seamlessly on projects designed to understand atherosclerosis.

Since 1989 the Research Team at HRI has published hundreds of scientific papers and made countless discoveries and breakthroughs which has led to a worldwide advancement in the battle against heart disease.

The Researchers have been awarded and recognised extensively in Australia and overseas. Their reputation and achievements have led to numerous collaborations with national and international research and corporate groups.
