HRI is committed to providing an exciting and encouraging environment for postgraduate students to carry out their research and advance their scientific careers. Our PhD students benefit from world-class research training, interaction with diverse research groups via our stimulating weekly scientific seminars and monthly Cardiovascular Seminar series, as well as various other opportunities to learn more widely from some of Australia’s best medical researchers.
Supervisors provide practical, intellectual and emotional support for their students, while fostering a culture of excellence in research. Our students are crucial to the HRI mission to improve global health by understanding the causes and complications of cardiovascular disease.
Domestic and international PhD students at HRI must have scholarship funding to support their PhD studies. All PhD students holding an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship are also awarded an HRI top-up scholarship.
HRI PhD students are usually enrolled through The University of Sydney. If you wish to enrol through UNSW, UTS, WSU or another Australian university, please discuss this with your potential supervisor or email research@hri.org.au.
