Prof David Celermajer: “Science is our only hope to save the planet”

Professor David Celermajer is the Clinical Director of HRI, a professor and heart specialist at RPA and he's a doctor three times over. As well as his medical qualifications, he has a Masters from oxford, a PhD in Children's heart disease from London University and a PhD in Science from this very university. He was also world debating champion and he public speaking champion in the 1980s, where I'm reliably informed, his topic that he won was ‘Why We We Shouldn’t Play Leap Frog with Unicorns'.

Aussies pioneer new approach to mend broken hearts

A printer that builds beating 3D hearts in a laboratory could soon be saving the lives of heart attack patients if a pioneering Australian trial proves successful. The Heart Research Institute has bought a 3D bio-printer to engineer human heart tissue that can be stuck directly to a damaged organ following an attack.
