Have you or someone you care for experienced a serious illness? Your lived experience could help make medical research more impactful and relevant.
At the Heart Research Institute (HRI), many of our researchers work closely with "consumers"- people who have been directly affected by disease. These partnerships ensure our work remains grounded in the real-world experiences of patients, families, and communities.
By joining the HRI Consumer Program, you’ll help our researchers explain their science in plain language, provide vital insight into how our research is making a difference, and become part of a welcoming community with access to events, seminars, and behind-the-scenes lab tours.
Consumers offer valuable perspectives that researchers alone may not see - how a condition affects everyday life, families, and communities. By sharing your insights, you can help shape the direction of research, improve communication, and ensure outcomes that matter to the people they’re meant to serve.
We’re currently seeking consumers with experience in congenital heart disease, heart failure, peripheral artery disease, atrial fibrillation, and other heart-related conditions.
