Elisabeth Hermine Wolf

Master's Student

Biography

Elisabeth Hermine Wolf is a master student in Biomedical engineering at the Technical University of Eindhoven and is doing a research project Cardiovascular Regeneration Group as part of her master’s degree, under the supervision of Associate Professor Carmine Gentile.

Her research focuses on creating functional in vitro cardiac models using a 3D bioprinting approach. Her work is focused on using anisotropy within the tissue construct to guide the cardiac cells into an aligned and elongated morphology.

By optimizing cardiac cell functionality within hydrogel scaffolds, her work aims to bridge the gap between current tissue engineering and the creation of functional, lab-grown heart tissue.
