The upcoming seminar will shine a light on the research of Professor Ben Freedman OAM, Director of External Affairs and Group Leader of the Heart Rhythm and Stroke Prevention Group at HRI.
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common abnormal heart rhythm – it is estimated that individuals over the age of 40 have a one in three lifetime risk of developing AF. It is also associated with one third of all strokes. Professor Freedman’s work focuses on preventing strokes by detecting silent atrial fibrillation (AF) and implementing appropriate guideline-based management. With clinical implementation focus, the group is exploring novel strategies using eHealth tools and patient self-screening to detect unknown silent AF.
This event is a fantastic opportunity to meet the research team and learn more about the impact of HRI’s cardiovascular research.
