Biography

Alix Beckett is a proud Wiradjuri woman with family ties to Central New South Wales. She has a background in Indigenous Disability research and Indigenous Health Promotion at The University of Sydney and Edith Cowan University. Alix has worked alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across New South Wales and Western Australia throughout, contributing to projects on Indigenous disability prevalence, closing the gap in healthcare, eating disorders, and Indigenous youth behavioural health. In her role as a research assistant at the Djurali Centre, she supports the co-design and implementation of culturally safe, strength-based research to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
