Biography

Manisha Patil is a PhD student with the Vascular Complications Group at HRI. She completed her Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) in 2019 at The University of Sydney. Her project is focused on identifying the role of a molecule called TRAIL (TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand) in vascular cells, specifically endothelial cells and pericytes, during the formation of new micro blood vessels. She aims to determine how these novel interactions can help resolve vascular complications in cardiovascular diseases such as peripheral artery disease.
